Synopsis: This book presents a comprehensive exploration of the Chemistry Adventure Game as an alternative learning media and assessment tool. It integrates theoretical foundations of gamification, educational games, science learning, and key learning theories that support the design and implementation of game-based learning environments. In addition, this work provides a detailed description of the Chemistry Adventure Game, its educational features, and the pedagogical objectives it aims to achieve. A major contribution of this book lies in its application of the Many-Facet Rasch Model (MFRM) to examine rater effects, cross-cultural responses, and the validity of game-based assessments within Indonesian and Malaysian learning contexts. Through MFRM analysis, this study highlights critical insights into rater severity, nationality and gender influence, rating biases, and student perceptions of game-based chemistry learning. These findings are essential for improving fairness, reliability, and validity in performance-based assessments, especially those conducted across different cultural and institutional settings.
